Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing risk associated Seminar organised and presented by G.P. Global Ltd

G.P. Global Ltd organised the seminar titled “Risk Factors Guidelines” on November 30, 2018, in Limassol. 

A great number of participants from different organisations like Cyprus Investment Firms, Administrative Service providers, Funds, Law Firms and Accounting Firms, have attended the seminar.

The objective of the seminar was to assist participants to familiarize themselves with the factors firms should consider when assessing the ML/TF risk associated with a business relationship or occasional transaction, as well as, how firms can adjust the extent of their customer due diligence (CDD) measures in a way that is commensurate to the ML/TF risk they have identified. 

Mr. George Papanicolaou was the instructor of the seminar and presented many aspects related to the  Risk Factors Guidelines. 


 


Topics covered in the seminar among others were:

• Firms’ approach to assessing and managing the ML/TF risk associated with business relationships and occasional transactions;
• Risk assessment methodology;
• The factors firms should consider when assessing the ML/TF risk associated with a business relationship or occasional transaction;
• How firms can adjust the extent of their customer due diligence (CDD) measures in a way that is commensurate to the ML/TF risk they have identified;
• How firms can identify, assess and manage the ML/TF risk associated with individual business relationships and occasional transactions in a risk-based, proportionate and effective way;
• Risk management: simplified and enhanced customer due diligence;
• Application of the Risk Factors Guidelines for the purposes of complying with the requirements set out in Articles 58(a), 58(d), 58(h), 58A, 61(2), 62(2), 63 and 64 of the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law of 2007.
